We’ve done some great projects with Aspen Skiing Company Environment Foundation in the past. Our favorite to date is still the upcycled tote bag and messenger bag created using old ski uniforms. We turned something old into new AND the product reflected the organization’s values.
Here is a bit of background on the Environment Foundation. A collaboration with the Aspen Community Foundation and the Aspen Skiing Company Family Fund, it is a non-profit employee organization dedicated to protecting and preserving habitat, ecosystems and the biodiversity that we depend on.
When we were approached for another project, we were excited to get our creative juices flowing. Aspen needed a promotional item that would act as an incentive to engage employees of the Aspen Skiing Company to join the Environment Foundation. It also had to be fashion forward and made entirely from sustainable materials.
Fairware worked with Aspen and came up with custom designed trucker hats, made from GOTS certified organic cotton and in a WRAP certified factory, with tone on tone 3D embroidery. Whoever signed up to join the Foundation would receive this cap as a reward for their support.
A crucial part of this project was to also find the right supplier. Econscious was ours – a company that specializes in custom organic and sustainable apparel. Together, we created a promotional product that was stylish, sustainable, usable and most importantly, it reflected the organization to ‘walk the talk’!
