Personal Protective Equipment in the Promotional Product Industry

LinkedIn

These are unprecedented times, and COVID-19 is affecting people of all types, across all industries. Many of our suppliers have shifted their production lines to create Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to meet the current needs of front-line workers and people in their communities.

While we don’t want to take away from the supply of medical grade PPE needed by our healthcare workers, we do recognize that other front-line workers like grocery store staff, pharmacists, public transit staff and truck drivers need to protect themselves, and so do you.

With the amazing support of our suppliers, we’ve pulled together an assortment of personal protective equipment to help you keep your people safe. Whether you’re looking for soap, hand sanitizer, social distancing floor grips and signage, acrylic safety shields, or non-medical grade masks, we’ve got you covered. Head over to our Personal Protective Equipment Lookbook to see a selection of what we’ve got.

We know what steps we need to take to keep ourselves and our communities safe and healthy, such as washing our hands, keeping our hands away from our faces, and practicing social distancing, and we can now provide you with products that will help make this easier

Recommendations for the use of face masks have been mixed over the past several weeks, but the BC Centre for Disease Control is now suggesting that it is beneficial for everyone to wear masks.

“Masks should be used by sick people to prevent transmission to other people. Masks are an appropriate part of infection prevention and control if you have symptoms of COVID-19 or are caring for a person with symptoms. Wearing a cloth mask is a matter of personal choice. Some people can spread the virus when they have very mild symptoms or may be unaware they are infected. In this case, wearing a mask can help in containing your own droplets and protect others but it will not protect you from COVID-19. Any mask, no matter how efficient at filtration or how good the seal, will have minimal effect if it is not used together with other preventive measures, such as frequent hand washing and physical distancing. Medical masks and N95 respirators should be reserved for healthcare workers.”

Please visit the World Health Organization and your national and local public health authorities for up to date recommendations and information on your region.

Please note that production times are likely to vary as we may need to replenish inventory in order to meet demand. Our suppliers are working tirelessly to produce these products, while ensuring their staff remain safe and healthy, so please bear with us if we’re experiencing any shortages. We have a mix of suppliers who are producing PPE, and while some are still working at near-normal levels, others are dealing with ‘Shelter in Place’ orders and are not able to print or ship products at their usual rates. Many suppliers we have spoken with have sent most of their staff members home with sewing machines so that they can continue to work from home safely. Depending on your needs, we’ll work with our vendors to find the products you’re looking for in a timely manner.
