We have recently joined the Vancouver Economic Pledge (launched in September 2015) to address and take stronger action on climate change issues. As a value-based business, we are always looking for ways to support the economy and our city and reduce our own carbon footprint. We’re proud to be signatories to the Climate Change Pledge.
Vancouver’s Climate Change Pledge provides a way for businesses in Vancouver to get behind climate change globally. “It encourages businesses to align with Vancouver’s vision to shift to 100% renewable energy, to have their own corporate carbon reduction and renewable energy targets, and to challenge other businesses to sign the Pledge.”
The Pledge is only the first step, along with many other actions and programs planned by the City and the Vancouver Economic Commission in the coming months leading up to December 2015, when the world will come together in Paris, France for the COP21 Climate Conference.
We’re working with Climate Smart right now to update our own carbon footprint and identify where we can take action at Fairware.
